Drill in response to the issue of an earthquake warning Drill in acceptance of and transmission of the order to convene the Committee for Earthquake Judgment, drill in emergency staff assembly, drill in issue of alert, drill in establishment of Alert HQ, and drill in emergency response to disaster, are staged.
Drill in dealing with the occurrence of an earthquake disaster The drill is staged in on the same lines as the drill in emergency response to an earthquakes occurring directly below the Southern Kanto Region.
3 On-Site Drills.
On-site drills are held on the assumption of an earthquake occurring directly below the Southern Kanto Region, or the Tokai Earthquake, as follows.
(1) Area where the drills are staged
Earthquakes Occurring Directly Below the Southern Kanto Region Ibaraki, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo and Kanagawa
*The drills are also staged in Tochigi and Gunma, which are included in the Wide-Area Relief Plan.
Tokai Earthquake
Kanagawa, Yamanashi, Nagano, Gifu, Shizuoka and Aichi, which are included in the Areas under Intensified Measures against Earthquake Disasters (IMED), and Mie.
(2) Emphasis of the drills
Organizations concerned, residents and companies in each area cooperate to stage the drill with a clear assumption of the expected scale of earthquake and damage, with the following emphasis, based on the actual situation in each area.
One of the main purposes of the drill is to remind people of disaster prevention measures in the home, in schools and in the workplace, and to raise awareness of disaster prevention.
Raising the awareness of disaster prevention The drill is staged with emphasis on the following, in order to give correct knowledge about disaster prevention and enable them to act properly in case of disaster.
